Summary
Kate Merritt Davis studied Fine Arts as a painter at the University of Montevallo and is currently working at a national stationery company, while she exhibits and sells more and more of her work at regional art shows and galleries. Kate also takes commissions from private collectors for a variety of other creative work. She has most recently enjoyed painting pieces for interior designers to decorate in their customers' homes as well as their own. Her biggest sellers are large-scale, color washed abstractions that carry her narratives in their titles -- and sometimes in the pieces themselves. Her imaginative use of water, gravity and raw canvas combine to produce very modern, thoughtful and personal work.
